Warwickshire County U1650 Team Selection 2026
Warwickshire are again entering an U1650 team into the ECF County Championships this year.
The initial stages will be run within the Midland Counties Chess Union, with the top three teams qualifying for the National Stage.
One match will be played in September, October, November, January and February. Normally on a Saturday, starting at 13:30hrs. Exact dates to be decided.
Game time will be G110’ plus 10” per move. With a team of 12 to 16 players.
Home matches will be played in Warwickshire. Away matches will be played in the opposition’s County or at a neutral venue to limit travel.
This is a very enjoyable competition, giving you the opportunity to represent your County at a high level.
So if you have an August ECF Standard rating below 1650; live or work; play for a chess club; or were born in the Warwickshire, Coventry to Birmingham areas, you are eligible to play.

The Coventry and District Chess League is pleased to present its 4th Rapidplay Tournament, continuing its commitment to promoting chess. It is an exciting year for chess in Coventry, with the British Championships being held locally, this summer.
Building on this, we welcome players of all levels to take part in our upcoming Rapidplay, and celebrate our thriving chess community!
