Online Chess - Coventry & District Chess League
For the 2020-21 Season, the Coventry & District Chess League is running an Autumn Online League, in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. This is, following a backdrop of a very successful trial league in the Summer, where a summary can be found here, [link].
The Online League will consist of two divisions, an Open Division, and a U140 Division - open to regular and new chess teams. The time control will be 15 minutes plus 10 second increment.
The Finalised Rules (Version 2 approved on 21st September) for the League can be found [here] - covering the outline plan, divisions, eligibility, penalties/appeals, and technical issues.
The provisional Information & Guidance Document, can be found [here] - covering information the organisers require, fixtures and results, juniors/safeguarding, a guide to chess.com, accessing the matches as a player, and viewing your team's results.
The deadline for entries to Colin Green (the Online Chess organiser) is Monday 5th October, who may also be emailed for additional details [email@example.com]. There will be an optional Zoom meeting for all team managers on Tuesday 6th October at 7.30pm, ahead of the first round in the following week.
Matches will take place, for most weeks, between October to the beginning of December.
For Division 1, this will be on Tuesdays at 7.30pm, beginning on 13th October 2020. For Division 2, this will be on Thursdays at 7.30pm, beginning on 15th October 2020. There may be some flexibility on fixtures dates each week, but this would be on a case-by-case basis between clubs.
