Coventry & Leamington Online Chess League - Spring 2021

To build on the ongoing Autumn Season - for Spring 2021, the Coventry & District League, will be collaborating with the Leamington & District League, to run our inaugural joint Online League.

The joint League is due to start in the new year, on the week beginning 25th January 2021. We encourage all existing League players to play for their club online, and also encourage players new to chess to join their local club!

Final Entries (13th January 2021 23.59)

DIVISION 1: Nuneaton A, Banbury A, University of Warwick A, Kenilworth A & B, Coventry A, Leamington, Sutton Coldfield A, Shirley and Wythall A. 9 teams.

DIVISION 2: Nuneaton B, Banbury B, University of Warwick B & C, Rugby, Coventry University, Coventry B & C, Stratford, Birmingham University, Shirley and Wythall B. 11 teams.

DIVISION 3: Nuneaton C, Campion School Leamington, University of Warwick D,  Rugby Club Juniors, Coventry D, Solihull, Sutton Coldfield B, Rugby School A, B, and Staff.   10 teams.

This will be run over 3 Divisions - Open Div.1 (Tuesday 7.30pm), U560 Div.2 (Thursday 7.30pm), and U480 Div.3 (Tuesday 7.30pm). The time control for games is 15 minutes + 10 second increment.

Coventry & District Chess League - Autumn Online 2020

For the 2020-21 Season, the Coventry & District Chess League is running an Autumn Online League, in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. We are the foremost online League in the Midlands, with nineteen teams hailing from across the Coventry-Warwickshire area.

The Online League consists of two divisions, an Open Division, and a U140 Division - open to regular and new chess teams.

The time control is 15 minutes plus 10 second increment.

Matches will take place, across nine weeks, beginning at 7.30pm:


The first date (below) is for Division 1 (Tuesday) and the second date for Division 2 (Thursday).

WEEK 1     13th/15th October        1-10, 2-9, 3-8, 4-7, 5-6. 

WEEK 2     20th/22nd October         10-6, 7-5, 8-4, 9-3, 1-2. 

WEEK 3     27th/29th October         2-10, 3-1, 4-9, 5-8, 6-7.

WEEK 4     3rd/5th November          10-7, 8-6, 9-5, 1-4, 2-3. 

WEEK 5     10th/12th November      3-10, 4-2, 5-1, 6-9, 7-8. 

WEEK 6     17th/19th November      10-8, 9-7, 1-6, 2-5, 3-4.

WEEK 7     24th/26th November      4-10, 5-3, 6-2, 7-1, 8-9. 

WEEK 8     1st/3rd December          10-9, 1-8, 2-7, 3-6, 4-5. 

WEEK 9     8th/10th December        5-10, 6-4, 7-3, 8-2, 9-1.

There may be some flexibility on fixtures dates each week, but this would be on a case-by-case basis between clubs. If clubs play on a date other than a Tuesday or Thursday, please inform the League organiser, Colin.

Coventry & District Chess League - Summer Online 2020

The 2020 Summer Online League had teams across the District area playing - Coventry, Kenilworth, Rugby, Nuneaton, Warwick University, and Warwick Alumni Association.
